Passionate about color and inspired by all things organic in nature, Valerie Weller is best known for her colorful works in watercolor, oil and acrylic mixed media. She draws inspiration from seeing color and shape in everything around us. From the organic feel of a landscape, to simple blooms and leaves, to the appearance of figure and form… she expresses, paints and teaches, in her home studio located in sunny Los Angeles.

Painting is part of everyday life for me. I’m inspired to paint because I love color, and people. My visual connection to the world, my ability to teach, and the sense of color that I see, all weave together into expressions that connect to the hearts and souls of others. It is in that divine space that I feel most aligned in purpose, in healing and in reflection to life. There is color and beauty that exists for us all in the world if we choose to see it. Painting is a gift, and I spend each day sharing that with others”.

Valerie holds a BA (art/graphic design major) degree from Southampton, Long Island University, as well as an education degree. Originally from Long Island, New York, she made the trek west to the California coast in the early 80’s. She has been a professional artist throughout her life, spending over 25 years as a graphic designer, while painting for pleasure. Self-taught as an adult, and continuously expanding through workshop education, she is making her own dream come true as an artist and educator to others.
